Data we use
- Puzzle data: progress, notes, settings and cached puzzles stay in your browser. Temporary session storage keeps the date selector in place when changing dates. This puzzle data is not uploaded to us. Clear the site’s browser data to remove it; temporary navigation records are consumed on the next page load and session storage ends with your browser session.
- Website requests: hosting services process technical information such as your IP address, browser information and requested page to deliver and protect the website.
- Email: if you contact us, we use your email address, your message and any details you provide to respond. You can play without sending us a message or creating an account.
Purpose, sharing and retention
We rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure website and responding to enquiries, and on legal obligations when handling privacy requests or retaining legally required records. Hosting and email service providers may process the relevant data on our behalf. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the enquiry or meet a legal obligation; technical data is retained as needed for service operation and security. Browser data remains until you clear it or your browser removes it, although older puzzle caches may be removed automatically.
The current site does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Your rights
Where applicable, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@dailypuzzlehouse.com to make a request. You may also complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority.
